Here is a list of various websites and services that you’ll need to use to set up your Alpha 2.0 business. Every company listed here is one I recommend, but I recommend some more than others. I include short descriptions on which ones I recommend over others and why. They are linked for your convenience (note that some of these are affiliate links I get paid a little if you use them). Blogging Platforms These are services where you can set up your own blog. Wordpress – I recommend this option over all others. Wordpress is the de facto standard for blog sites as well as many non-blog sites. It’s also easy to use, extremely flexible, has tons of add-ins available, and is extremely SEO friendly. Highly, highly recommend. Blogger – Another good blogging system if, for some reason, you don’t want to use Wordpress. Typepad - Another good blogging system if, for some reason, you don’t want to use Wordpress. Do-It-Yourself Websites These are services were you can create your brochure page and sales pages very cheaply (often for free) without knowing anything technical about how to set up a website. Wordpress – Wordpress can be used to set up non- blog websites. This is especially a good idea if you plan on expanding soon. Weebly – Weebly is very good and I’ve used it for years. Tim Ferriss has also used it. Very simple and straightforward. Squarespace – Another very good service, much like Weebly. Sitebuilder – I don’t know much about this one but I’ve heard some people like it. Payment Systems These are the web services that actually allow you to get paid. I would start with either PayPal, or PayPal and Stripe. PayPal – The de facto standard. It’s basically an online bank with all the same features. Stripe – This is probably the most well-known, global, and trusted payment system besides PayPal. It also works in many countries and regions where PayPal is not allowed. Barebones Shopping Cart Systems These are “simple” shopping cart systems that can handle basic shopping cart needs for you. They all work well. E-Junkie – This is the one I used for years until I had to make my own shopping cart system (see next section below). It’s cheap and works. ClickBank – This is a shopping cart system that also doubles as a strong affiliate system. Other people can sign up to ClickBank (for free) and then sell your stuff. ClickBank automatically pays them a commission based on commission percentages you decide. Shopify – This is a system where you can set up an entire online store. It’s better for selling products rather than information or services. Custom Shopping Cart Systems QuiPro – If you want to have your own shopping cart system custom designed to do whatever you want, these guys will do it. They set up my shopping cart pages and they’re absolutely awesome. Highly recommend. Email List Management Setting up and managing your email mailing list is one of the most important functions in your Alpha 2.0 business. It’s critical you get a system for this up and running as fast as possible. Aweber – This is the system I use to manage all of my email mailing lists and I love them. I’ve literally never had a problem with their service, and they integrate into pretty much every other system out there. Highly recommend. ConvertKit – I’ve never used this service but I’ve heard a lot of good things about it. GetResponse – Another email service I’ve heard good things about. Sales Page Systems These cost a little more money, but they will allow you to get higher sales on your sales pages than just using a normal webpage service like Weebly or Squarespace. ClickFunnels – This is what I use. They are absolutely fantastic, have every feature you could ever think of, and have lots of freebie extras to help boost the sales of your sales pages. Leadpages – Another very good sales page service. Overall Management Systems These are more expensive services that do everything: your web pages, sales pages, blogs, email management, and so on. They are only recommended for those with bigger budgets. Ontraport – Heard lots of good things about this. Infusionsoft – The de facto standard. Minimize Your Taxes You may use your local accountant, or, if you live in the USA and make a little more money, you should use Tax Law Associates who are attorneys who double as accountants (so they’re your attorney and accountant) who focus completely on reducing your taxes. I have saved thousands upon thousands of dollars in taxes using these guys, 100% legally. Highly recommend. Be sure to tell them that Caleb Jones sent you so the know who you are. Upwork – Best place to find low -cost experts to help you in just about any aspect of your business. Brickwork India - Only for those of you needing regular work (20-40+ hours per month, every month). They are fantastic; I use them as does Tim Ferriss and many others. Very professional, fast service, and cheap rates.
