<reviewbody>I'm glad Bogie finally agreed to do a radio show. He and Bacall were definitely a great team and it comes through in this show.

I find myself at fault for finding some of the plots predictable, but at the time I assume they were more fresh than they would be today.

Bogie's Slate Shannon is one tough SoB who only gets knocked out when its convenient for the plot. Bacall's Sailor Duvall is always ready with some quick wit or sarcastic slap of words.

Definitely worth many hours of listening! Enjoy!</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>The husband and wife team of Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall bring their on-screen and real life chemistry to the radio.
True, the plots are predictable, but they were in the 50s too...still this is the sort of thing they did so well in films like TO HAVE AND HAVE NOT. THE BIG SLEEP and KEY LARGO and since these were the days before you could have those movies in your home to watch whenever you wanted this was the best next thing.

It has been said that Bogart disliked doing live radio but, if so, he did one hell of a lot of it. With appearances on the Lux Radio Theater (twice, at least) Academy Award, Screen Director's Playhouse, Al Jolson and Jack Benny to name but a few. (He liked Jack Benny a LOT and even appeared on his live TV show).

There is a definite Hemingway-esque spirit to this show (with a touch of Chandler thrown in for good measure) and you should definitely add it to your collection if you haven't already.</reviewbody>
